PBNU Chairman Gus Yahya and Chairman of Baznas RI signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement at the PBNU Building, Jakarta, Monday (20/11/2023). This agenda was witnessed by the Chairman of PBNU H Ulil Abshar Abdalla, Deputy Chairman of PBNU H Amin Said Husni, and Chairman of Baznas RI Saidah Sakwan.

General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Yahya Cholil Staquf together with Chairperson of the National Amil Zakat Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Baznas RI) H Noor Achmad have officially signed or signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement on the 8th Floor of the PBNU Building, Jalan Kramat Raya 164, Central Jakarta, Monday (20/11/2023). In this memorandum of understanding, Baznas handed over IDR 10 billion to PBNU to be used as investment in NU's human resources (HR) by preparing several higher education scholarship programs. These include preparation for scholarships abroad, preparation for State Universities (PTN), Nahdlatul Ulama College scholarships (PTNU), and S1-S2 scholarships.

"Thank you to Baznas RI for providing assistance and giving confidence to PBNU. This means a lot to PBNU as well as students who need what Baznas provides," said PBNU General Chair KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) in his speech. Gus Yahya explained that PBNU made human resource development one of PBNU's main agenda.

This is in line with the tagline of the National Conference of Alim Ulama (Munas) and the NU Grand Conference (Konbes), namely accompanying the people to win the future. "Hopefully it will be a blessing, it will be a jariyah for those who have entrusted it to Baznas. Hopefully it won't disappoint, hopefully they will really receive the harvest later. This must be remembered by those who receive it, it will be used for things that can really be harvested by the jariyah. Meanwhile, Chairman of Baznas RI Noor Achmad appreciated what PBNU had done with funds of IDR 10 billion from Baznas RI which were used for the educational scholarship program.

"This is an extraordinary PBNU commitment of IDR 10 billion for education. It is important for us to note, this is to prepare generations to build the future," he said.

He further appreciated that the scholarship was not only used to study religious sciences, but also for non-religious sciences. Noor Achmad hopes that cooperation with PBNU will not stop here.

"The future is not only about studying religion, but also studying other sciences. We are interested that this Rp. 10 billion will not be used for anything else, for education. Thank you, I hope this collaboration will continue. For PBNU, what is important is that what is obtained is correct get blessings, so that many students will get blessings," he concluded. The signing of the PBNU-Baznas memorandum of understanding was witnessed by Deputy Chairman of PBNU H Amin Said Husni, Chairman of PBNU H Ulil Abshar Abdalla, and Chairman of Baznas RI Hj Saidah Sakwan.
