The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board Study and Development Institute (Lakpesdam PBNU) opened the NU Scholarship program which is specifically designed to provide assistance to NU cadres who plan to continue their education abroad, especially with a scholarship scheme. This program aims to increase capacity and help prospective students prepare scholarship requirements.
Director of the NU Scholarship Program, Muhammad Syauqillah, said that the NU Scholarship Program is a concrete step by Lakpesdam PBNU to provide assistance and support to young NU cadres who want to take big steps in education abroad.
“We saw a need. This is the PBNU Lakpesdam program for this period, considering the need for our young cadres to study abroad. "That is a program outlined in the NU Scholarship," said Syauqillah Monday (28/8/2023).
The doctoral graduate of Political Science from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey, said that the NU Scholarship program targets assistance for prospective students who will later study in various regions which are divided into several zones, including the America-Europe zone, the Asia zone and the Australia-New Zealand zone.
"The three zones focus on study areas in exact sciences which may be a need for NU too. "However, we also provide opportunities for social humanities colleagues to join and register," explained the Head of the Terrorism Studies Study Program at the University of Indonesia (UI).
Registration for the NU Scholarship Program is open from 22 August to 10 September 2023. Registration can be done via the form link http://s.id/PenbesaranNUsccholar.
He explained that the mentoring program was available for NU cadres who graduated from high school who wanted to continue their Bachelor's degree, graduates from S1 to Master's degree, then for Master's degree to Master's level. The registration requirements for the NU Scholarship Program are as follows:
- Have not received an LoA from a foreign campus
- Minimum GPA of 3.00
- Create motivation letters
- Minimum TOEFL 450
- Include recommendations from PCNU or local NU figures
- Priority is given to STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and still opens up opportunities for other majors
