The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board's Human Resources Study and Development Institute (Lakpesdam PBNU) has officially launched the NU Scholarship, a study assistance program and overseas scholarships. This program aims to provide comprehensive support for NU cadres who wish to continue their studies abroad.

The NU Scholarship program began with a series of webinars about studying abroad. This webinar presents experienced speakers and alumni from various parts of the world, including Asia, Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand. They will share inspiring stories as well as tips and tricks for getting your dream scholarship. Registration for the NU Scholarship Program is open from 22 August to 10 September 2023. Registration can be done via the form link http://s.id/PenbesaranNUscholar.

Director of the NU Scholarship Program, Muhammad Syauqillah, explained that the mentoring program is available for NU cadres who have graduated from high school who want to continue their Bachelor's degree, graduates from Bachelor's degree to Master's degree, then for Master's degree to Doctoral degree. He revealed that there are a number of benefits offered by the NU Scholarship program, including upgrading language skills. Program participants will undergo English language intensification to improve their communication skills in a language which is often used as a requirement by universities and scholarship providers.

"We are trying to upgrade the English language program, especially by following the prerequisites that must also be met when someone registers at a foreign campus, then we will assist with tips on getting scholarships, professors, writing motivation letters, CVs, so that they are attractive to look at and supervisors are interested," said Syauqillah to NU Online, Monday (28/8/2023).

Apart from that, the NU Scholarship program will also provide assistance by experienced mentors. Participants will be accompanied by mentors who have an educational background abroad and have in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities faced by students studying abroad.

"We will form a specific quarantine that we have prepared and will be followed by selected participants. "So we hope that the selected people will be able to take part in this upgrading program, then get mentors from the countries the prospective students want," said the doctoral graduate of Political Science at Istanbul's Marmara University, Turkey.

"If we want to be in Asia, we will prepare mentors from the Asian region, in Europe and America too. We prepare mentors who will periodically accompany cadres who pass the selection. "We will carry out the first batch in a month and then we will see what the needs are," he added.
